NOVA CANTORA NA PRAÇA: REBECA TÁRIQUE

Rebeca Tárique da Silva Menezes: esse é o nome de uma cantora nova no mercado, mas que traz nas suas músicas uma ancestralidade e força das raízes Africanas. Teve como fonte de inspiração a cantora Marinêz Ex. Banda Reflexus, sua tia, com quem convive desde a infância e aprendeu muito do que sabe.
"Nasci e me criei ouvindo minha tia cantar, ela é minha verdadeira ídola. Aprendi a amar a minha cultura e minha raça através das músicas gravada na Banda Reflexus e foi por conta disso que eu desejei ser cantora", diz ela. Nascida em 9 de fevereiro de 1987, quando criança, dizia que quando crescesse queria ser igual à tia, coisa de criança que fez valer no seu trabalho musical. De Salvador da Bahia, sua terra natal, tomou pra si algumas outras referências como Carlinhos Brown, Margareth Menezes e seu Padrinho Mateus Aleluia do grupo cachoerano Tincoães.
Jovem negra feminista milita no movimento negro na Entidade CEN- Coletivo de Entidades Negras aonde ocupa a função de Diretora Nacional de Juventude, espaço onde pôde revelar seu talento. Sua primeira apresentação foi na Caminhada da Mulher Negra Latino-Americana e Caribenha, quando foi vista em cima de um trio entoando sua voz marcando para centenas de pessoas. Em seguida, vieram as apresentações no Lançamento de uma entidade de estudantes negros da Universidade Federal da Bahia- Brasil, Diáspora e uma série de outros convites surgiram e a cantora já estreou no carnaval baiano puxando três blocos afros no circuito batatinha.
Rebeca Tárique, como é mais conhecida, agora está com duas músicas de trabalho: "Cantos e Encantos" e "Até Oxalá vai a Guerra" que foi também a música oficial da IV Caminhada pela Vida e Liberdade Religiosa (Caminhada contra intolerância religiosa e pelo Respeito às religiões de Matrizes Africanas), realizado no dia 23 de novembro de 2008 e tema do Documentário sobre a derrubada do Terreiro Oyá Onipó Neto em Salvador.
É de se notar que a artista, além de não negar suas raízes, faz da música seu instrumento de trabalho e militância, além de explicitar que tem Orixá na cabeça, é filha de Oyá e está pronta pra brilhar.
