Erikah Badu criou uma grande polêmica na conservadora cidade de Dallas no Texas (EUA) ao gravar cenas em que tira as roupas enquanto caminha na rua para seu recente videoclip Windows Seat onde presta homenagem à memória do Presidente Kennedy. As cenas polêmicas ocorreram no mesma avenida - Dealey Plaza - em que Kennedy foi assassinado em 1963 e segundo Badu esta foi a sua maneira de homenageá-lo.

Além de toda a polêmica, Erikah Badu do alto de seus 39 anos e nativa de Dallas, é pós-graduada em artes na Universidade Booker T. Washington, intérprete e compositora de sucesso, ela se mostra de maneira despojada em sua manifestação artística e é vista como positivamente transgressora por seus fãns que compram avidamente seu disco.
